Tech Center Special Services

Quick Reference

You can set up any of these services with an e-mail to msb-help@msb.edu or by calling 202-687-4721. Except where noted the service is free.

Phone Teleconferencing (Audio-only)

MSBTC will send you a phone number you can distribute to other participants. We need the time, date, and duration of your conference. There are no long distance call restrictions.

Web Conferencing (Elluminate)

MSBTC will send you a web link you can distribute to other participants. We need the time, date and duration of your conference. There is a short setup routine that participants must do the first time they use Elluminate. Also, it helps to have done the on-line familiarization (15 minutes) to allow you to moderate the session. Elluminate web conferencing service is also available as a link in Blackboard.

Video-Teleconferencing

MSBTC has a small (8 to 10 person) video-teleconferencing room with both IP (Internet) and ISDN video-teleconferencing connections. It is scheduled through MSB Help (msb-help@msb.edu)

Camera Loans

MSBTC has a limited number of hand-held video cameras we can loan for class projects. You will be responsible for media (mini-DVD).

Projector Loans

MSBTC has a limited number of projectors we can loan for class projects and school-related presentations. We will give you everything you need to hook it up to your laptop.

Personal Computer Troubleshooting Service

MSBTC will help troubleshoot personal computers. In many cases we can also fix the problem. The service is in the Main lab in new South from 10Am to 4 PM every weekday. You must remain with your computer during the troubleshooting/repair.

Personal Computer Warranty Repair and Vendor Service

Each Monday Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM there is a Computerware technician available in the MSB Main Lab. Computerware can provide both warranty and vendor repair services for most computer brands. Unless the work is covered by warranty there is a fee for Computerware service.

Fax

You may send faxes from the MSB Tech Center domestically at no charge. There is a small fee for most international faxes. MSBTC will accept and file for pickup any fax addresses to you. MSBTC fax number is 202-687-7022.
