MSB Account Information

UPDATE: This help page reflects the new account information for logging into MSB services. As of October 30th, 2007, the login information required to access your Groupwise email account has been merged with your Novell account. To access your email account, you need to use the same account information that you use to login to any Novell systems (what you use to login at the Tech Center lab). If you are having any problems with this transition, please contact the Tech Center for assistance.

Your Two Accounts

As an MSB Student, you have 2 logins - Your UIS NetID and your MSB/Novell ID. Each ID has different login procedures, a different password, and gives you access to a different set of services.

UIS NetID

Used for:

  1. Blackboard: https://campus.georgetown.edu
  2. Faculty Access+: http://limited.georgetown.edu/FacultyAccess/
  3. Student Access+: http://limited.georgetown.edu/StudentAccess/
  4. explore.georgetown.edu

Using the following Information:

  • UIS ID: your NetID
  • password: UIS password

To change your NetID password:

MSB Novell ID

Used for:

  1. Groupwise Email: Web Access: Server 1 or Web Access: Server 2 or Groupwise Client
  2. GWGuardian (Spam Quaratine): https://gwguardian.msb.edu/quarantine/Login.aspx
  3. MSB Intranet: http://intranet.msb.edu
  4. Remote File Access: http://storage.msb.edu
  5. Novell Client (Lab Access)

Using the following Information:

  • Novell ID: your NetID
  • password: MSB Novell password

To change your MSB Novell password:

  • Log into WebAccess. Click Options in the top-right corner, select the "Password" tab, and type in the appropriate information.
  • Log into an MSB configured computer, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, Select Change Password, Select MSB, type in old then new password.
  • If you do not know your current password MSBTC must have proof of ID to change it. You may establish proof of ID by:
    • Comming by the MSB Tech Center and presenting a valid ID
    • Fax a copy of a valid ID to the MSB Tech Center at 202 687-7022. Include the following information:
      1. Name
      2. Net ID
      3. Phone number
      4. What you want your new Novell password to be

MSBTC will change your password ASAP during normal working hours. If these above procedures are not possible please contact MSBTC at msb-help@msb.edu.
