CURRICULUM

Program
The International Executive MBA program is an intricately structured 18-month sequence of courses and team-based, problem-solving projects punctuated by four concentrated week-long periods of study, or "residencies." Built on core competencies that include the management of international business, strategic analysis, management communications, and business-government relations, the modular program delivers the practical management skills required by business leaders operating internationally. Georgetown's IEMBA combines an outstanding faculty and a select group of experienced participants with a dynamic curriculum that results in an integrated and unique approach to graduate business education.

Curriculum
Classes are structured in the form of cohorts -- a series of courses that gradually build upon one another. Meeting every other weekend, all day Friday and Saturday, you will divide your time between "hard-skill" subjects like statistics and the "soft-skills" of marketing and communications. You'll see the interrelationships among subject areas and related applications to your own work and that of your classmates. If you are like most IEMBA participants, you will find your vision expanding and the payoff almost immediate.

Residencies
Four demanding and intensely stimulating immersion experiences bring classroom concepts to life. Known as residencies, these week-long sessions will take you from Asia to eastern Europe. The innovative four-part residency program may take you into the halls of Congress for a discussion of how legislation affects business, the board room of a multinational company in India to develop marketing strategies, or the front office of a young entrepreneurial business in Mexico to help it break into the U.S. market.  Residencies are designed to give you an unforgettable hands-on educational experience that reaches far beyond the traditional MBA.  Georgetown's reputation in the United States and abroad has created strong ties to many multinational companies as well as small businesses, whose executives will challenge you with actual problems they face in the international market. All the residencies involve a "live case," a forged strategic issue or project affecting a company or industry, which you and your team study in depth.
