CUSTOM PROGRAMS

At Georgetown University, Office of Executive Education, we pursue a philosophy of educating the whole person, one person at a time. This requires an instructional sensitivity that recognizes each participant may come to a course with a different set of capabilities and experiences than another. The professor also recognizes that participants can learn from each other as well as from the concepts and tools communicated by the instructor. With this philosophy, an executive education program becomes a highly interactive learning experience with practical implications that resonate throughout the life of a leader and his/her organization. This philosophy converges with three major learning outcomes of the proposed program:

To educate: Each participant will learn critical concepts and tools that are relevant to achieve leadership and organizational objectives and goals, whether they involve processes, projects or people.

To enable: Each participant will learn how to apply the concepts and tools to various situations; in effect, each person will make the intellectual connections between tools and context that lead to insight, the basis for long-term leadership development.

To empower: Each participant will be encouraged to stimulate and strengthen the development of various emotional intelligence skills - such as self-awareness, self-management, collaboration, and teamwork - to better negotiate the potential complexities in organizations of accomplishing fulfilling work. To know oneself in relation to others is to be empowered.

Custom programs at the McDonough School of Business are a collaborative effort between our faculty and senior leaders of your organization. These educational engagements focus on advancing the strategic objectives of your organization emphasizing application of theory in practice and identifying effective action. The participants will synthesize, analyze and integrate their knowledge from across the organization and use this knowledge to provide innovative and credible solutions that provide an immediate return on investment.
